Effective Natural Treatments for Dandruff

Garlic

Applying garlic juice to scalp does wonders for your hair. Garlic has antibacterial properties which eliminate the bacteria that causes dandruff. Just mix olive oil with a clove of crushed garlic and apply it to your scalp for 30 minutes before shampooing.

Salt

A healthy scalp is essential to fight all hair related problems. Using salt to stimulate circulation in your scalp nurtures it. Just mix a handful of fine salt in around 100ml of water and use this to rub your scalp just before showering.

Yogurt

Yogurt is extremely effective when it comes to fighting your enemy, dandruff.

Mix 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a bowl of yogurt. Apply this mask to your scalp and hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes before washing with a sulfur free shampoo.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar’s benefits have been doing the rounds all over the place. It is an excellent source of losing weight and the acids and enzymes present in this vinegar also help eliminate the bacteria that causes hair problems like dandruff.

Twice a week, mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and spritz all over your hair and scalp. Cover your hair and head in a towel and let it sit in there for 30 minutes. Wash your hair afterwards.

Choose your Shampoo Wisely

There are a lot of products available in the market but you need to choose the one that suits your scalp.

Go for shampoos that are mild and are sulfur/sulfate free. They may not create a lather but they are effective and don’t cause scalp problems. Also, try looking for shampoos that have tea tree oil in them. It is effective against scalp related issues because of it’s antibacterial properties.
