3 Tried and Tested Remedies for Sun Tan

Although summers are all about soaking up that sunshine and getting all the Vitamin D, long time exposure to the Sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays results in an increased production of melanin which causes  increased pigmentation in the skin. This is why in summers, light skinned people get “sun burnt” or red whereas dark skinned people also get discolouration and dark patches on the skin. To help, there are some tried and tested remedies for sun tan.

Here are some easy and quick home remedies for sun tan to help you achieve that perfect summer skin and remove sun burns or dark patches.

All you need to do is:

Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a bowl, then add a couple of drops of rosewater to dilute the acidity of the lemon juice a little bit.

Soak a cotton pad with lemon juice and apply directly to the affected area.

Let sit for about 10 to 15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Apply a toner or moisturiser afterwards.

Repeat process for a few days until a noticeable difference is observed
