Have you ever experienced hangnails? There’s hardly anything in the world that’s more annoying. They hurt, they annoy and they can cause your fingers to swell up and get infected. As tempting as it may be to pick at them, we suggest otherwise. We also have some tips that will help you prevent hangnails so you don’t have to be annoyed!
1- Moisturize
Moisturizing isn’t just essential for your skin and your face, it’s super important if you want to keep your nails healthy and if you want to avoid getting hangnails. Dry hands and dry cuticles cause problems so keep them moisturized, okay?
2- Give your Cuticles some Care
Remember, you are no manicurist so avoid experimenting with your cuticles. Do not snip at them yourself. Get yourself a nice cuticle removing cream and push them back with a gentle cuticle pusher. If you need them snipped, get a professional manicure.
3- Snip Carefully at Hangnails
If you decide to snip, given the situation has gotten out of hand then do so with extreme care. Make sure that you are only removing dead skin. Otherwise, you can cause yourself an infection and it will be painful.
4- Go for a Nail Soak
Coconut oil has countless benefits and here is one more; you can use it as a nail soak and it will moisturize your nails deeply and will soften your cuticles. Just wrap your hands in a hot towel afterwards and moisturize them well to get super soft, gorgeous hands.
5- Oil Up the Hangnails
If you want some extra hydration for your nails and cuticles, get yourself some argan oil. Just apply it to your nails before you go to bed. It will soften your cuticles and hangnails and you can snip at them later once they are a little away from your skin.
